My frontend can successfully connect to my backend, however it is only seeing 2 of my recordings, and not listing the rest. Does anyone know what could cause this?

Are there any db permission I should be checking?

Does the frontend have access to the /myth partition on the backend? I think with the default install the frontend's store their recordings in their own /myth partition. You probably just need to point the frontend to the correct /myth.

Interesting...I didn't realize that. Do I have to set that via command line or is it in the frontend menus?

While I'm not sure this is the best way to do it, I set up NFS on my Myth systems. I setup the frontend so that when it booted, it started NFS and mounted the backend's /myth partition. I changed /etc/fstab so that it loaded the backend /myth over NFS and then commented out the local /myth partition. I deviated from the wiki instructions by not mounting the NFS partitions to /mnt/nfs. Instead I just used /myth as the mount point. The local /myth is not being used and is a waste of HD space, but I have enough space on the backend to store all my recordings. I don't think I had to change anything on the frontend setup to get this working.

This happened to me one night:
Backend crashed
Wife went into the recordings, and it gave an error about not being able to connect.
She hit Return/select a couple of times, which eventually brings up the "filter" dialog. She managed to inadvertently set the filter to "dramas" or something.

When I got the backend back up, all I could see were a handful of shows like E.R., Housewives, etc.. The database had lots of shows, but I could only see a few. I finally figured out the filtering.
It's really easy to turn on by accident. May or may not be applicable here.

That would be my guess. You don't need NFS or anything else for the frontend to "see" the recording on the backend.
