The regular forum contributors may be continually frustrated by it, but USB keyboards are only becoming more popular. Despite searching the forums first, it's bitten me too, as I've been working to get a MythTV frontend running on a Mac Mini (using Linux, not OS X). Almost all of the above posts mention that USB keyboards work once the system is up; they just don't work in the initial menu. So I have a suggestion -- how hard is it to take a parameter from the ISOLINUX menu and bypass the "install/upgrade/frontend" selection? At the "boot:" prompt I can already type "tv", "expert", "dragon", etc. Wouldn't this problem be solved if users could type "frontend" and skip the menu? (Obviously, "install" and "upgrade" would have to use default values instead of prompting, perhaps prompting after rebooting.) I've never worked with ISOLINUX before, so I don't know how hard this is. Just a suggestion. |
