Post subject: | MythBurn error in R5C7 - Can't connect to X11 window server |
I've searched the forum, googled the web, checked the wiki, the mythtv mailing list, all to no avail. There are two possible problems I see from my mythburn.log: Code: ini load error: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /myth/mythburn/temp/X.ini (No such file or directory) Loading Language -> 'en' and Code: Loading Basic Classes...
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.InternalError: Can't connect to X11 window server using ':33.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable. It seems as though others have encountered the second error. Here's what I've already done to try and fix it: 1. Checked to make sure XVFB is installed (it is) and running (it is). 2. Added the -ac switch to the XVFB command call in mythburn/scripts/remplex.sh to allow all clients to connect to the XVFB server. 3. Logged in as root and ran "/usr/X11R6/bin/Xvfb :33 -nolisten inet6 -screen 0 640x480x8" to create the sockets. The few other solutions I've seen either don't apply or simply don't work. MythBurn worked flawlessly in R5B7 for me... Can anybody provide any additional light on how to fix this error? Thanks! |

I'm thinking of upgrading from R5B7, but I use the DVD feature and would be bummed if that no longer worked. I hope someone helps you with this. Good luck ![]() |

I also am getting the same error, even if I try and burn to an ISO image. Has anyone found out anything more? |

I've been diligently searching for a solution, and still haven't come up with anything... I'll post if I find anything. Until then, I'm unable to burn DVD's. ![]() |

Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet? Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or are falinskip and I the only ones? |

I had this problem come up in my R4V5 install. Try the follwoing: 1. Restart GDM (/etc/init.d/gdm restart) When I did this the problem went away. Seems that the port that X11 wants to use can become locked and unavailable. 2. There was an option to add to the projectx command line to inform it to run "headless", someone posted it here on this forum somewhere and a good search should yeild it (sorry, don't remember what post it was). **EDIT** Here is the post: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... ++headless The last entry shows the command that this person used to solve that problem. Oh and the error not being able to find X.ini can be ignored. Hope this helps. |
