I am running a trial install on R5C7 and I am hitting the errors shown below. The recording stops prematurely, although myth thinks it is still recording. I did some searching and it looks like an issue the IVTV folks are still trying to resolve, but I wanted to check here to see if anyone has found a way to work around this problem. I do not have this problem with my R5A30.2 install.

My configuration is a P4-2.8ghz, 1gb RAM, HT-enabled, ECS 648fx-A mobo with SIS chipset. Standard R5C7 install but with a modified "append" line in lilo.conf: append="splash=silent apm=power-off nomce noagp noapic noioapic noacpi acpi=off".

Extract from /var/log/messages
Code:
May 27 10:39:01 mythhdc7 kernel: ivtv0 warning: DMA/UNKNOWN type 0x1c7f1b81, NOT SUPPORTED
May 27 10:46:36 mythhdc7 kernel: ivtv0 warning: ENC: REG_DMAXFER 2 wait failed
May 27 10:46:42 mythhdc7 kernel: ivtv0 warning: ENC: DMA still Pending while stopping capture!

Follow-up edit: The problem does not occur if I disable hyper-threading in the bios. Unfortunately, I need HT to have sufficient processing power for hidef playback.

Thanks for help you can provide!

A quick update -- recompiling IVTV to use PIO instead of DMA also prevents the problem, but uses way too much CPU, as expected.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, found a better way to work around it? THanks!

OK, I've found another work-around this is more acceptable, although still unfortunate. I've found that if I eliminate VBI capture in the "general" section of the setup tool, the problem goes away. The unfortunate part is that the feature I wanted from 0.19 is closed-caption. Sigh...

If anyone has a better work-around, please let me know.
