I went into the Knoppmyth menu (from the main menu) with my remote in an attempt to do a quick restart, and I accidentally hit restore. Boy was that a mistake. Without any "Are you sure?" prompt or anything...my Myth proceed to revert to it's configuration from two weeks ago...losing all of my recordings, GUI size settings, and channel fine tuning that I've worked so hard on. This is going to take about 5 hours to fix.

Is there anyway to undo that?

Why is there no confirmation on that screen? It is very dangerous!

My recent recordings are in my /myth/tv directory, but only the recording that are more than two weeks old show up in Myth. How do I get them back into there?

Yeah, I read that. I justed pulled the restore command out of my knoppmyth.xml. I don't want to ever accidentally do that again!

Perhaps khrusher's XML changes in that other thread should be put into the next version of knoppmyth.

I accidentally hit restore too and lost all my recent recording etc. Not having a confirm step is a profoundly poor bit of UI design. I hope a revision makes it into the next release.

I think it should also ask for the mythtv user's password before restore. Without this or something similar I'd be anxious to give someone else the remote control for the system for fear that they might delete all my recordings.

Anyone had any luck with the /usr/local/bin/myth.rebuilddatabase.pl script?

Does the restore actually delete the shows from the HD? I suspect not. If I'm right, then a restore is going to leave orphan shows, which you could still play with mplayer, and there's probably a way to re-incorporate into the database so that you can play from the front-end.

Orphaned shows are going to sit there forever, taking up space.

On my install I just commented out the "Restore" button in the knoppmyth.xml. That way if I really need to run it I can manually type int he command or just un-hide the menu entry from the knoppmyth.xml.
