I added a second NIC (gig), booted and made sure it worked, then shut down and took the first one out. I can use ifconfig to setup the NIC correctly, but it does not stick though a reboot.

netcardconfig has the right information.

/etc/network/interfaces also has the right information in it:

auto lo eth0
iface lo inet loopback
iface eth0 inet static
address 10.125.0.4
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 10.125.0.0
broadcast 10.125.0.255
gateway 10.125.0.1

But when it boots up there is no address on eth0.

What am I missing?

Thanks-

Zeph

Well, I couldn't figure this out and wanted to add a quieter and larger HD, so I re-installed with only the Gig NIC in place, and it works fine now.
