I finally had the courage to upgrade my long standing, modified install of R4V5 last weekend and everything went almost perfect.
After upgrading my system, the TV out on my PVR350 worked right out of the box BUT when I rebooted, it failed and would not start X.
I later found in a post that there was a known issue where the ivtv file (the correct one) was being overwritten with one that was backed up prior to upgrading. In my case, my old IVTV version .2 with obsolete commands in the IVTV file was overwitting the Newer IVTV version .4 one caussing this havock. To get around this I simply just removed the IVTV filr from the TAR back up file that is was inside of prior to running the upgrade again.
Great work on this release! I don't know how much more you can improve on it as I got my PVR350 working with TV out and the use of my Homemade serial IR blaster both working right out of the box. I remember installing R4V5 and having to manually do everything, re-compiling a modified version of LIRC for the serial IR, etc and that took about a day to do. This upgrade took 1hr at most.
