Post subject:  Ran out of space, fixed but now I have Live TV issues

I am running RB57 with frontend/backend and frontends connected to it. I ran out of space and the box kinda crashed. I deleted the logs, checked the mysql tables and then deleted the capture cards. I can watch recordings (still records fine). However LiveTV (used to start in a couple of seconds) especially from a remote frontend will play initially fine, then I will try to change channels and it will crash to the desktop. If I try to go back and watch LiveTV it will just continue to crash.

I looked in the logs and I see this:

root@mythtvmasterbackend:~# tail -f /var/log/messages
Jun 6 20:20:07 mythtvmasterbackend -- MARK --
Jun 6 20:27:09 mythtvmasterbackend kernel: ivtv0: All encoder MPEG stream buffe rs are full. Dropping data.

After searching the mythtv mailing list. It appears this was or is an issue with .19. Seems like it was an ivtv issue or a disk performance issue. The backend for some reason is not able to keep up. Something about writing to improper record tables.....

No one seemed to be able to fix. Has anyone seen this before and does anyone know how to fix.

I guess I could upgrade to RC57 but I would rather fix.

Hi,
Follow the guides and do a backup, then strongly consider upgrade. C7 is B7 +features and tweaks to your benefit :)

Also check the /myth/tv/*.nuv files, delete them as it is left over stuff from mythlink.sh (pretty)

If I lost my tv recordings it would not be a big deal.

I can backup my videos directory.

I read through the tips for upgrading to RC57.

It looks like I will just need to reconfigure my DirecTV scripts and NFS shares.

I have added three other ATA hard drives to goto a Terrrabyte of storage. Do I still need to run a LVM setup or does RC57 recognize the additional drives and opt to use for additional storage.
