I have a PVR 250, and when I enter live TV on the composite of the tuner card the channel changes to 1. I assume this is due to the mythtv-setup option of starting channel. But... mine is set at 13.

Now this really isn't a problem too much except that on comcast channel 1 is the preview/On demand channel, so when you go to channel one its a menu on top of whatever channel you were on.

So if you are on channel 10 in myth and cable box
exit live TV - myth = n/a channel cable = still 10
run live TV again myth channel 1 calbe box = 10 (even though it tries to change the channel to 10, but the cable bix still says 10 cause its just a menu on top)

So sounds like a cable box issue... yeah, yeah I agree that its dumb, but at the same time, the starting channel doesn't work. It always chooses channel 1 as the starting channel. So if I could fix that the rest of the issues go away.

Occasionally this will break a recording if Myth goes to record and tried to hit the channel that the box is already on. IF and only IF previouslly I was in live TV on that channel that it tries and record on.

Its the DCT2224, and its working great like I said, except for that.

Do you use a script for channel changing?
If you can't modify the script to be a bit smarter when changing to the channel it is already on, would it be possible to modify the script so that it changes to an unwatched channel first and then the desired channel?
Don't most cable subscriptions include channels that you don't actually watch.

Hi,
Do an alt s and check your settings carefully, maybe something isn't what you think it is.

I am pretty sure all my settings are correct. If I edited my chan_change script then the channel changing would take longer than it already does. Thats not good. In the mean time I changed the frequency of channel 1 to 2, so that it starts on channel 2. Its a temporary fix I guess.
