So I have a dozen or so X10 home automation devices that I use to turn lights on and off. Some on timers, others via an IR remote control interface. I also have a PowerLinc USB interface that I bought to play with on my Mac.

Last week my X10 IR receiver died. I was going to replace it, when I though, there might be an easyier way. I alerady have an IR receiver on a PC that is always on and has USB ports. So I dug about and found project wish, which allows x10 commands to be sent from the PowerLinc USB from Linux.

I have seen some info here in the forum about creating a menu in knoppmyth that will send X10 commands, but I want something slightly different. I want to use the existing x10 remote commands to send data to the x10 interface directly without having to have a menu onscreen at all. THis way I could change light settings while the TV is not on, or while watching a show or movie.

So what I need now is a way to may the IR commands to the wish interface. Can I do this with the existing lirc in knoppmyth or will I need a second instance? Is there a simple way to get knoppmyth to execute external (wish) commands based on IR signals or will I have to write an app that does this?

Does anyone have the keymap for the x10 (aka Radio Shack Plug 'n Power) remote codes?

I am a Linux newbie, and can hack out a few lines of C when I have too, but I am hoping I can get this done without getting in over my head.
