Post subject:  1 box outputting firewire and composite

Hi guys. Thanks ahead of time. I have a broken hand, so i got to make this a short as possible. I have knoppmyth up and running. I would like to use firewire for the unencrypted signal (anything that is in the basic package) and my tuner card's composite for the encrypted signal. I set up each input with it's own modified source. For example ch 42 in not available for firewire, but is available for composite. If I turn to 42 I still get an error, which means it's not using the correct source.

A am using a dtc6200 and KnoppMyth. as of right now, I think my board's pci bus is to slow, because the firewire feed is choppy. Im running an 1800, correct me if im wrong; it should be able to handle the feed with in the correct board.

Regardless of this issue, I still want to use both feeds, and change channels with the firewire while using the composite input.

Thanks,
Jim

no on a 6200 you only get one output, well at least only one output at a time though you can capture that same output (channel) through svid composite component or firewire, but all will have the same thing on them.

Well that is true, accept for the issue with the encryption. I want to receive the channels that I can through firewire, and the encrypted channels through composite.

Thanks

I've never had a problem with encryption on firewire. I can receive anything that my package allows over firewire.

I have the exact same problem as wilcoxiv.

Xsecrets is lucky that his cable provider does not enforce the 5c / DTCP flag on some broadcasts (for the time being).

Comcast in the Bay Area, however, blocks a ton of channels...MythTV doesn't work with 5c, so there is no way to get a large chunk of TV over firewire.

FYI-The Motorola DCT6200 *does* allow firewire and RF out at the same time. I'm trying to setup two tuners--firewire for some chanels and a pcHDTV 5500 for the other channels that are blocked.

Since there is no serial port on the back of the 6200, how would I tell MythTV to change the channels when it's using the pcHDTV 5500 tuner?
