Hi,

Upgrading from R4 to R4V2 fixed the issue I was having with the backend failing. Looks like the retry option added in MythTV fixed the issue. All the shows I set up to record get captured. However, now the video is REALLY choppy. I'd say I'm getting four or five frames per second, tops. Not too bad for anime, but live action makes me dizzy. I'm using a pair of PVR-250's, a GForce 5200, and an AMD 2100+ with 512MB RAM. The frame rate was fine before I upgraded. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I cannot find a link to the thread handy, but it was mentioned that the version of ivtv that comes with R4V2 does not perform well with the default 480x480 resolution / 4500 bitrate. When I switched my resolution up to 720x480 with a 5600 bitrate, all of my issues with choppy video and flickering where resolved. Give that a shot.

Thanks a lot for the info. I had intermittently choppy video and sound. Slowing down and then getting back up to speed. Came and went watching live TV.

Enabling DMA helped but changing the resolution fixed it beautifully.

Thanks to everyone for all the support and info in this Forum. My first Linux project is my MythTV box from KnoppMyth. I love it, Now....
