This is a fresh install of the latest version of KnoppMyth. When the system is booted, mythbackend doesn't start on its own. If I try '/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend start' then it doesn't work (this is what init does during bootup, right?). However, if I just type 'mythbackend' then it does run. I suspect something is wrong with the script, maybe? Anyone have any more info?

Checking the process as the machine boots, it seems that mythbackend appears for a while but then doesn't around the time mythfrontend is launched.

If the backend isn't starting, check the logs for errors.

Yep, seems like it was a permissions issue with the NFS lockfile in /myth/tv (I'm using a central NFS server).

Thanks.
