I recorded too many tv shows and filled up my HD and caused myth to crash. I cleaned up the /var/ log files that were created and manually (from xterm) deleted a few recordings from /myth/tv. I am happy to say myth came right back up and worked again.

However, the recordings I manually deleted still show up in the GUI as available to watch. Hitting the delete key the on remote will not delete these files.

How do I manually delete these shows from whatever database file still shows them as existing?

I am running R5A16.

I think the easest way to clean them up is to recreate the deleted files with empty files.

Code:
touch <name of file deleted>

Then delete from mythtv

Hi,
Since you are running R5A16, there is a updated version of mythtlink.sh that does that house keeping for you.

Going into the "way back" machine... see if this is of value.

Please note that it will not work with the .19 version (B series) of mythtv because of the .mpg extensions.

Khrusher,

That did the trick. I just got the file name from the link in mythweb and cut and pasted it with the touch command. It then deleted properly. Thanks.

mjl, I will have to look into that script you referenced. Thanks.

Hi,

marc.aronson did all the work on the mythlink.sh tweaks and deserves credit with his programming skills. All I did was notice a small problem.

It is rather long reading but may be informational and help you get an insight as it addressed the very issue you had. You may have another problem that you don't even know about yet :)

Any R5B7 (and future release) users should disable mythlink.sh because of file extension change over, .nuv <> .mpg
Enjoy.
Mike

Edit
Don't know how I missed this...
