This is a total newbie install of r5c7 on an x86-64 amd with an older nvidia card and a pixelview bt878(?) card. The auto install worked. But the 200 gig drive is starting to get filled up, so i would like to get mythburn going. Currently the system is as installed from the knoppmyth iso. When i try to burn a saved file, the log saiz that on opening file 0, (the correct .nuv file i selected), it encounters an unknown file type. I have tried to save the files in both rtjpeg and mpeg4 format, still i get the same error. is this a bug or a limitation of mythburn? I tried to find something similar in the forum, but after a couple of hours i gave up. any suggestions and/or references?
tia

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe MythBurn still only supports MPEG2 files like those from Hauppauge PVRs, etc. It works great with them as I've been using it for nearly 2 years (now including the version included with R5C7). MythBurn's successor, MythArchive, is available and I believe it supports transcoding from other formats. So that might be what you need. There might be threads here on it or check it out at:

Thanks for the reply. It seemed that this was the case, but I had to ask. rebuilding mythtv for mytharchive as we speak. but how come the latest knoppmyth has mythburn prepackaged instead of mytharchive?
