Hiya folks.

First of all, I apologise for this 'spam', but I thought it'd be nice for you to know...

I was at LUGRadioLive at Wolverhampton Student Union building last weekend exhibiting MythTV. LugRadio is a weekly online radio show which takes a light-hearted (and often sweary) view of the world of Linux & open source (www.lugradio.org)

We handed out more than 70 free Knoppmyth CDs over the course of the weekend (I chose Knoppmyth because of its reputation as the easiest way to get mythtv running btw) and overall the reaction was very very positive.

Negative feedback we received about mythtv was mostly that it has a reputation of being very hard to install & configure (think rocket science degree!). A few people criticised myth for its reliance on mysql (eek!). LOTS of folks asked about the possibility of buying ready-made mythtv systems in the UK and abroad.

As I said earlier, overall everything we heard was very complimentary and positive :) Our stand was very busy and I like to think we did a lot of good PR for the best open source PVR application.

I talked quite a lot about features coming to Myth in the next release - there was a lot of interest in MythArchive (also some at knowing mythburn comes as standard with Knoppmyth :) ).

If you've ever thought it might be cool to take a couple of boxes on the road, I strongly recommend you do it - great fun was had and although some of the questions were hard going, it was all done in good spirit with the best of intentions ;)

:D It is fun being at a show! Dale and I have enjoyed SCALE for the last two years. Hopfully, we can enjoy for many more to come! Thanks for promoting MythTV and KnoppMyth as a means to enjoy it!
