Post subject: | Can't watch DVD |
I'm having trouble playing DVDs on my system. I can watch tv fine and have gotten libdvdread3 installed, but only get a flash on the screen from mplayer when playing a DVD. Trying it from the command with "mplayer dvd:// -dvd-device /dev/hdc -fs -zoom -vo xv -v -v -v -v > err" yields the following: *Begin* MPlayer 1.0pre7try2-3.3.5 (C) 2000-2005 MPlayer Team CPU: Intel (Family: 8, Stepping: 9) Detected cache-line size is 64 bytes CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1 Compiled with runtime CPU detection - WARNING - this is not optimal! I notice you are using Mplayer for DVDs. What version of Mplayer are you using? Do DVD's play through xine? Hardware specs may help too. |

I always use xine, if you're not married to mplayer that maybe easier to get going. The command I use in the settings for DVD playback is: Code: xine -pfhq --auto-scan dvd

Thanks, Xine seems to play it fine. Since I was only using mplayer because it was the Myth default I'll stick with Xine. I found more info in the wiki. Thanks alot! |
