Question: Am I missing a step that is not forcing mythtv to load the new values I type into /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv?

Background Info:
I have modified my tuner type in /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv as follows;

alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 bttv
options bttv autoload=1 card=63 radio=0 pll=1 tuner=2
options btaudio rate=32000 dsp1=1 dsp2=2 mixer=1 debug=2
alias sound-slot-1 btaudio

When i was done editing i did an update-modules

When I reboot the tuner type is still shown as type 19 as follows;
bttv: driver version 0.9.16 loaded
bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture
bttv: Bt8xx card found (0).
bttv0: Bt878 (rev 2) at 0000:01:08.0, irq: 19, latency: 32, mmio: 0xe0000000
bttv0: detected: ATI TV Wonder [card=63], PCI subsystem ID is 1002:0001
bttv0: using: ATI TV-Wonder [card=63,autodetected]
bttv0: gpio: en=00000000, out=00000000 in=00ffffff [init]
bttv0: using tuner=19
bttv0: i2c: checking for MSP34xx @ 0x80... found
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9875 @ 0xb0... not found
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA7432 @ 0x8a... not found
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9887 @ 0x86... not found
bttv0: registered device video0
bttv0: registered device vbi0
bttv0: PLL: 28636363 => 35468950 .. ok
bttv0: PLL can sleep, using XTAL (28636363).

(When I manually rmmod bttv and tuner and then modprobe bttv card=63 tuner=2 it works)

I need to make the same changes you have, change tuner=19 to tuner=2, but being new to linux I can't figure out how to do that. How did you do it?

Cheers,
Tom.

Reread what he/she wrote... It is stated how the change was made.

Yep I read what was said previously and it looks like it might be the solution to my problem. However I don't know how to make the changes. I have tried editing /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv using "vi bttv" but all I see is "alias char-major-81 videodev" there are none of the other lines that the other user had. I assume I am going about this the wrong way. I don't know how to get in and edit those options. Sorry if I am missing something really obvious.

EDIT:
ok, I may be getting somewhere now but still not there yet. see http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 4718#64718

Cheers.
