Post subject:  ffmpeg and undefined reference (ipod, xvid)

I'm trying to get myth2ipod working, along with XviD transcode. But, the conversion is failing. I run the original script manually and I see that my ffmpeg does not have faac and xvid enabled, so I decided to recompile ffmpeg from examples from other posts and wiki: with faac and xvid enabled. After I run "configure", I then run "make", but that fails with undefined reference messages to various libs. I run ldconfig and I can see my libs.

WHAT DO I DO TO GET A SUCCESSFUL COMPILE?

I'm running Knoppmyth R5C7.

I seen ti have solved my own problem. I started from scratch and ffmpeg finally compiled and installed. I was able to transcode a tv show to mp4 format for use with my iPod and iTunes Podcast subscription. IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!!!!

Now, when I try to do a XviD conversion it fails, and tells me to use the --debug option to see what went wrong.

Crap, now I gotta get this working!!

try doing a manual export to XviD using nuvexport from command line.

nuvexport --ffmpeg

Tells nuvexport to use ffmpeg engine (I found not 100% compatible XviD files produced)

nuvexport --transcode

Tells nuvexport to use Myth transcoding engine.

Once you figure out the right type to get working line 19 is line to be changed.

See this thread for more info on troubleshooting XviD stuff.

I fixed it. I needed to recompile ffmpeg with "--enable-mp3lame". Thanks for your help though.
