Well, everything is nearly working - or nearly everything. first off - I have looked for hours through the forums, and I haven't been satisfied with my search results - so here goes: Pentium IV - 2.4 - basic shuttle micropc with DVD drive/burner, 200 gb hard drive etc.. ... upgraded now to R5C7 - Samba, game, videos, nice new look ![]() ... I can rip dvds into .iso ... I can rip dvds PERFECT to .vob ... I used to rip GOOD to get an AVI - My dvd does mount, I have changed the mount point from /dev/dvd to /dev/cdrom and back again - works the same... -when I try to RIP in Good or MEDIUM - I get the error of no jobs and nothing to do (as far as I can remember -I am at work ![]() I have upgraded XVID, and even accepted and installed DIVX legally - and I have a CODEC pack - but WHERE do I put the CODEC pack - is this the problem? does it go into /usr/lib/......... ?? where? What is the transcode line command - it just says 'transcode' in the DVD ri p settings.... and I can't remember the total command line above it - it was fairly involved. Any or all advice is greatly appreciated. I know I had this problem before - and do you think I wrote it down?! no! Is this a CODEC problem?? Everything is working... kinda... And it REALLY bugs me to have to rip a DVD into .avi on my XP winblows machine... (yes I searched the forum, the wiki, google, linux questions, and I even went to the well at www.transcoding.org/cgi-bin/transcode HELP! and Thanks! Knoppmyth rocks - but I am kicking myself for upgrading. ![]() |

R5D1 upgrade. Works great - I have NO idea what did it - but it works now - so that is the easiest solution |
