Hi all,

I'm fighting with my ext. FAT32 HDD via USB and r5c7.
When I mount drive manually - all is OK.
But using auto-mount is unsuccessful.
HDD is reported as sda. FAT32 partition is sda1.
I already uncomment entry /etc/auto.usb related to sda1 (first one).
Unfortunately it dosn't work :-(
Problem is strange:
-when I uncomment sdc line and plug HDD - in syslog I see errors about mounting sdc volume.
-when I uncomment sda line - no single message in syslog related to automount of sda.

Maybe automount is mounting sda, but from some reason I didn't see it in syslog and /var/autofs ?

Will help me somebody with this issue ?

Look at the setup_usb.sh script in /usr/locat/bin there's also a thread around which discusses the predecessor of that script setup_usb_drive.sh and includes a lot of useful information related to this question. Ah, here it is... http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9075

tjc,

Thx for help.

I run setup_usb scrip. Ended without any errors - but no any changes in automount.* files :-(.
I examined why: in dmesg file there is no entries about sd[x] drives - so scrip hasn't input data...
However I have infos in messages file - so I changed source file in script from dmesg to messages - but script is saying "no permissions". I changed permissions to root:root - but problem still exist.

Ok, I can manually edit /etc/mount.usb.
If my HDD is sda, and FAT32 part is sda1 - how entry in auto.usb should look loke:

sda -fstype=vfat,uid=1002,gid=1002,umask=002,noatime :/dev/sda1

or

sda -fstype=vfat,uid=1002,gid=1002,umask=002,noatime :/dev/sda

or

sda1 -fstype=vfat,uid=1002,gid=1002,umask=002,noatime :/dev/sda1

Thanx in advance
