I originally posted something similar in the DTV section since I thought my issue was related to the ATI HDTV Wonder card I was trying to setup on my new backend box, but it appears I have the issue without as well so here goes....
I've been running KnoppMyth 4R5 for what seems like forever and haven't had a single issue. I've been trying to build up a new A64 box to handle the 4 PVR-x50 cards and the DTV card above. The install goes well, and all the guide data appears perfect. For some reason though, when I try to schedule in MythWeb things get confused, for lack of a better word. I will select a program to record and when I click "Update Recording Settings" I usually get a popup saying "Program Unknown". Usually it will then add it to upcoming recordings, but if I try to cancel the schedule it will fail and leave it in the upcoming list anyway. After a little bit of this I start getting 'page not found' when I navigate and have to close and re-open to fix it. Also, I'm getting errors when I delete recordings, as well as recordings that delete, but then show back up when I refresh the page.
I've searched around and haven't found anything like this before. What baffles me is that I've re-installed more than I care to admit and keep getting the same results to varying degrees. I get some deletion anomalies using the scheduler in front of the machine, but I don't know if it's a result of how I scheduled with MythWeb.
Anybody have any ideas on where to start?
Thanks much,
Gonz

Did you do a fresh install or an update? There a number of ways to create strange situations in the DB using upgrade, including renaming the machine, failing to clear capture card definitions, ...

Are any of your PVR cards being detected properly? Check the log files as usual following the wiki page. Did you go through all the setup for the cards in mythtv-setup? Define each card, and make sure you set up an input connection to associate each of them with the vido source for it?

Yup, the HDTV Wonder and both PVR-150s seem to be operating. The 150s are set for Tuner1 and the HDTV wonder is set for DVB0 I think? I have been able to record from all three at once so I think I'm good there. The goal will be eventually to pull the 3-250s out of my existing server and fill all 5 slots (3x250,1x150,and 1xHDTV Wonder. I'm starting to think I should pull a 250 out of my 'production' machine and try with just one of those to see if the 150s are my problem.

Your response is a bit fuzzy, how do you know that they're working? Can you watch live TV with them?
Have you looked at the permsisions and the like?

Sorry about that. Yeah, I am able to watch live and record on them. I haven't looked at permissions but I figured since I was able to watch live tv, schedule recordings on them, and delete the recordings that things were ok there. I'm going to try to look at the apache logs tomorrow and see if I can figure them out. Even though I've been using Knoppmyth for a few years I'm still relatively green when it comes to a lot of the inner workings.
Thanks for your help,
Gonz

Ok, mystery of mysteries... if I use Firefox on my Ubuntu box to schedule via MythWeb I don't seem to have a problem. If I use IE on my XP box(s) I get the aforementioned problems. Now, before everyone comes back with "Then don't use IE, use Firefox", I should mention that I'd like to be able to schedule from anywhere I am and Firefox isn't always an option. Am I still alone on this one or can anyone else verify this is an issue?
Thanks again,
Gonz

Still more info. This article mentions one of the issues I'd seen:
http://threebit.net/mail-archive/mythtv-users/msg05060.html
Namely, if I try to look at an upcoming program I get HTTP 400. It may just be an incompatibility with IE. It seems hard to believe that I'm the only one seeing this though. Anyway, the search continues...

Yes, back when this revision of MythWeb first came out a number of problems with it and MSIE were reported. Here's a thread that links to some possible solutions
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9117
The easiest solution is to access it via things other than MSIE. Other solutions appear to require that you upgrade Apache, which depending on how you do it, may or may not mess up KnoppMyth.

You are not, I see issues with IE too. Most of the IE problems were introduced with .19. I see the ""Program Unknown" error if using IE. Don't really see too many posts on the forums about IE though which is kinda strage as the tech community seems to think IE still has the higher market share. I did see a post either here or Gossamer list about enable some IE setting in a mythweb config, but that really didn't seem to help me and I use IE so little didn't seem worth the effort.
Found what I recall

I am using IE version 6 with mythweb and I am on R5D1 and I don't have problems with mythweb on IE. I use it to manage recordings and playing video. After my upgrade from R5A30.2 I have run into an issue playing back recordings created under R5D1 using VLC on windows, but this has nothing to do with IE as I can reprouce the problem if I copy the file to a local disk.
I've read about various issues with the password protection scheme, so I turned off passwords for mythweb. My firewall doesn't allow access to my web server, so I'm OK there. For access from outside my firewall, I do a secure sign on with putty and use putty to open a tunnel to the apache server.

Now that you mention it, I don't know if I had the problem before I enabled pw protection on mythweb. Does anyone know if it's possible to use the old authentication method (pre-digest)? I initially tried to set that up, but I had issues where I couldn't access with the user/pass I'd setup. I then found the howto for digest and haven't gone back. Does anyone think using the old method could work/make a difference in the issue?

As a quick test, maybe just try disabling mythweb passwords.
Code: ToggleWebSecurity.sh --help
will explain things a bit.

Man, there really is a script for everything if you know where to look. Anyway, the result of my test was even more strangeness. I ran the script and it disabled security, which I verified by opening MythWeb from Firefox. I received no password prompt and it was business as usual.
Going into IE on my XP box, I continue to get prompted for user/pass. If I cancel I get denied access, but when I enter them I get in and still have the same issues. I'm baffled. I did do all the standard stuff like clear cache, cookies, etc... My XP box is on IE6 and has all the latest MS patching.
