Hi, open an xterm (alt x) su - to become root. then run netcardconfig and select eth0, try with dhcp if that is an option. Be careful with apt-get, you don't want anything that shows upgrade / removal ... usually causes a broke myth system. Mike |

Usually when I have this issue it's because of name resolution. If I have my crappy DSL gateway/router as the first DNS entry I can't resolve names on the internet. If I have my providers DNS first all is well. Just something to try if you want to keep your static IPs setup. I think the file is /etc/resolv.conf? Gonz |

Hi, If you want to setup a static ip, do the netcardconfig dhcp first, then do it again and do manual. You only will need to change the ip and and gateway. It should picked up your dns server addresses. Mike |
