Hello all

I am using knoppmythtv ver R5cool7 with an updated MPlayer.

I was loading an img file into my film directory and started it without any problem, but i cant use the menu to do settings for the dvd and i cant start it as i need to click on a button in the menu to start the movie.

What can i do?

I cant find what key to use on my keyboard to browse the menu or klick on an item on the menu

Unless they've fixed it while i wasn't looking, mplayer doesn't deal with DVD menus very well. Most folks use xine for this.

I have tried to use xine but get errors about missing modules and i dont know if i can update xine without getting problems. Or maybe i need to have a special syntax when i start my dvd from mythtv.
Do you or anyone else have some experience about upgrading or correct syntax to view an img file?

When you say img file are you reffering to an .iso image file? If so I have not had any experience with this but I recall some threads about using Xine to play .iso files in MythVideo.

In short Xine command for iso files should be
Code:
xine -pfhq --no-splash dvd:/%s/

2 threads

Yes i am meaning an iso file.

It didnt work as xine gives me an error but i cant see what it says
So i upgraded it to 1.0.1 but the problem is still there.

Do i have to install or upgrade codecs or anything else besides libxine1 ??

Try exiting frontend and running Xine command from xterm to see what errors are. Is there some command line switch to enable logging in Xine?

I had a typo in my path so now i have it running but only the first chapter.
When it is changing chapter i get an error that tells me that i dont have permission or it can read the package.
Could this be a syntax problem or is it a faulty package??

Encrypted image? For legal reasons Cecil can't provide support for playing encrypted DVDs. Folks who are lucky enough to live in places where the MPAAs lawyers haven't been allowed to walk all over fair use principles can install the appropriate libraries, but we can't even tell you what they are.
