Hello

Yesterday I was recording the opening game of my favorite footbal team and here is what happened. Around the third quarter I started to think that the game might run over a little so I went to the machine and started up firefox, accessed Mythweb, and went to adjust the schedule. I checked the Backend status, then I clicked on Recorded Programs or Schedule. This caused mythbackend to fatal crash.

Error
/usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/includes/mythbackend.php line 105
fsockopen unable to connect.

The game was about the restart from commercial so I opened up a shell as root and manually restarted the backend and this created a second piece. One is about 16GB and the other is about 6gb. After the game commercial flagging started only on the second 6gb part and it seemed to have a hard time getting past 99%. I think it should have flagged both parts and this is bad. So I manuallly flagged the commercials in both pieces. When I went to transcode them, at around 5% or so I get a total lockup on my machine. It freezes and I need to do a hard reboot.

MythWeb also crashes when I access Schedule or Recorded Programs

Since I want to keep this recording, since they playback just fine, here are my thoughts

Can the two recordings be merged into a single file that the database can see correctly?

Or how can I tell the database that the file is two pieces and not one so it is happy? and things will be good again?

I can move them to another machine and delete the files but this is not a fix.

I could use some DBA advice...

You'd have to use a program (perhaps avidemux) to join the parts. You can then place the file in /myth/video and run the video manager to see it... There is also a mythrebuild utility that you can use if you place it record in /myth/tv. However, the name escapes me at the moment.

I've tried some programs that join parts before but I always seemed to have trouble with the audio for one reason or another...

Digging around I found this command on WIKI

myth.rebuilddatabase.pl --dbhost=localhost --ext mpg

Would this allow me to leave the two files alone and just manually
update the info to get the database in order for MythWeb Recordings?

Thanks CESMAN

I always add an hour to all sporting event recordings....they never end on time.
