I was wondering if it would be possible to use just a Front-end with the plugins (MythGames, MythDVD, MythVideo), without installing a back-end? I have some Season DVDs encoded (H.264) on a file server at the house, and was wondering if a front-end would stream those off of the network without a back-end server. I don't need to watch TV or record it. Thanks in Advance /First Post! :D |

All of the plugins need the backend so that they can get info from the database. If all you want to do is stream some videos you will probably want something like vlc. just google video lan client. |

I wanted the emulator and the fancy front-end as well. I know of GeexBox, but it doesn't hav the games emulation. Thanks for the answer. I'll just have to do a standalone with both running. |
