I found a mythXM script that lets you stream XM to your myth box.
It works great, but it installed over my "games" link. I assume I can go into the themes and put games back in...
Also, I can't seem to find the original post? Do posts commonly dissappear on this board?

Original post is here:
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11982
Also added an OSD to display the song info when the song changes.
Your games disapeared because i dont use games myself so i had modified the menu before i wrote in the XM stuff. you can just add games to /usr/share/mythtv/library.xml

Search must be dead, I tried again this AM and "XM" turns up nothing. I wish this forum were world-readable so google could index it (and cache it as well).
Thank you so very much, you are a godsend!! Great work on MythXM!!
How long does the OSD stay up? Is that adjustable? I am having trouble getting mine to stay on screen when watching TV (only like 1 sec, even though I fix it in TV watching settings)
I need to make ESC the default escape char (instead of Q) to make sure the interface is more consistent with myth.
My wife thought the graphics looked grainy on my 1920x1200 display, but she was also quite impressed at the same time. Thanks again!

I would suggest 800x600 for the resolution but thats just my preference...
I am running a 48" sony rear projection and it looks perfect.
The OSD in mythXM isn't like the one for watching tv but the XM one is set to 5 seconds.
The live tv one is at:
Utilities/Setup -> Setup -> TV Settings -> Playback -> last tab
Hope this helps.

If Cecil thinks a posting is off topic where it's posted, or discusses something which he has declared out of bounds for legal reasons, he exercises editorial control to keep the forums from turning into a hairball or some bloodsucking horde of lawyers from destroying it.
If he thinks the content has merit he may just move it, but if it's posted under Installation, despite multiple sticky "read this BEFORE posting" and "off topic postings WILL be deleted" threads which are supposed to warn folks, he generally deletes them with extreme prejudice.

I have an XM subscription, username, password, etc., so I am trying this as a bonifide xm user.
I have some background info and a couple of questions.
I have R5F27 (which Cecil added the xamp scripts to). I started ran the "xamp setup" command and entered all my xm account info. I chose xmessage for the song data popup, because the how to page said it was an option that should work on all systems. More info at:
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Integrate_XM
When I go to the Mythtv menus and select XM Satellite Radio, and select a channel, I get no sound and no display of any text telling me anything.
Does anyone have this working in Knoppmyth?
After getting nothing from the GUI interface, I tried the command line test command "xamp 48", as root.
I got the following Code: root@mythtv:/usr/bin# xamp 48 Logged in as: *name masked* % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed 100 530 100 530 0 0 2695 0 --:--:-- --:--:-- --:--:-- 0 Stream URL: **masked, in case there is a legal problem** root@mythtv:/usr/bin# Error: Can't open display:
Does that last error mean that the song title popups are not compatible with Knoppmyth?
Feedback appreciated.
Eric

Does that last error mean that the song title popups are not compatible with Knoppmyth? You can't open the display as root because mythtv already has it - Run the command as the mythtv user (or whatever your frontend runs under) from an xterm.

OK. I eventually got sound from the command line "xamp 48" command.
I created the xamp config as user mythtv. Then, I tried the "xamp 48" command line command as user mythtv.
There still is NO audio from the Mythtv GUI screens for XM Radio. All I see are lists of channels and no controls or displays of any kind. I tried many different keystroke commands and nothing started an audio stream. I have not seen any documentation to tell how to control this.
The implication is that if you can connect and get a stream by the command line, that the GUI screen will simply work? That does not seem to be true, however.

I got tired of having to search through the forums every time I rebuilt on how to setup the XM Online streaming software. So, I created a Wiki entry at:
http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=MythXM
with everything I went through to get it up and running again on a fresh install, and other observations. I hope the information might prove useful.

The only problem I've had with xamp is there does not seem to be a way to adjust the volume. Anyone have any ideas on that?
