Post subject: | Live TV locks up after several hours (PVR-350) |
My KnoppMyth setup has been working great except for one thing. If I leave it on live TV for several hours, the display locks up. I see a frozen image on the screen and hear a buzz coming out of the speakers. I'm able to ssh to the box, but haven't been able to figure out a way to get it working again except by rebooting. Any advice on tracking down what's going wrong? The last lockup happend at around 17:00 this evening. Here's a snippet from mythbackend.log: 2006-10-13 19:00:01.349 Finished recording The Simpsons "Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass": channel 10225 2006-10-13 19:00:01.703 TVRec(1): Enabling Full LiveTV UI. Can't tell if it's just the mlnet process crashing or a bigger problem. Way back in R5A22 days, I had a similiar problem. I can't remember the exact setting, but it was something like "ring buffer" that I had set at 10GB. The problem was the actual size of the buffer was 9.xxx GB. I changed the setting to 9GB and never had a problem after that. I should be clear that I haven't experienced this problem since then (on any of the later KM versions). And I'm just throwing out the suggestion based on the described behavior (live tv locking up after several hours), not based on anything you posted in your log files. If you need more detail, let me know and I'll see if I can look it up on my mythbox at home. |

Thanks for following up. I've decided to try switching to a VIA EPIA setup. Not because of this--primarily because the existing Celeron box I have is too loud, hot and inefficient. Hopefully once I switch hardware, this problem will just go away. ![]() |
