Post subject: | KnoppMyth MythTV version and HDHomeRun |
Hi, I have been wanting to try out HDHomeRun but it says you must have MythTV version .20 for it to work. Are they any pre-build distributions of Knoppmyth that have MythTV .20 in them? I searched around but cannot seem to find any. I know that MythTV .20 has been out for a while and I have tried building it myself but have been unsuccessful. I have used and earlier version of KnoppMyth and it worked great with another card that I had but I was wanting to try out the HDHomeRun. Thanks all, Tracer |

Not yet... But with R5D1 is a thread on upgrading to .20. http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11558 |

I have an HDHomeRun working with KnoppMyth ... I just started with a clean R5D1 and followed the instructions to upgrade to .20 in the thread that spalVl linked to. HDHomeRun is very much a plug and play ethernet device (assuming you have a DHCP server running!), and .20 works very well with it. Setting up the two to work together was very easy. Caveat: I only use myth to record, not playback, so I don't know if there are issues with playback while HDHomeRun is recording. [Edit:] One other important caveat, I only record OTA, not QAM. -K |

HDHomeRun is supported in version .20. It shows up as one of the options in the Capture Card drop list. The HDHomeRun is configured as two separate capture cards, one for each tuner, and after configuring each (which is simply a channel scan), it is used by MythTv just like any other capture card. Very simple to setup in MythTv. If you are using QAM, I'd suggest heading over to the silicondust.com forums ... there's been discussion about getting QAM to work, which I haven't followed. -K |

QAM works great with the HDHomeRun device now. However you do need to recompile .20 with the 'fixes' to get the QAM channel scanning to work. Recompiling is pretty painless if you use the script that someone else created: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11985 If that link doesn't work, just do a search on 'compile'. |
