Post subject: | New recording schedules appear blank |
Hello. I recently updated from R5B7 or so to R5D1. Then I applied the upgraded packages for Myth 0.20. Everything has worked for a couple weeks. It appeared to be a very smooth transition. That is, until I try to add a new recording to the schedule. For some reason, it gets put into the database with some blank information. I noticed it in Mythweb first, there is a blank title, but the other information is shown (channel, date, time, etc). Even with that, it does not get recorded. This evening I saw something disastrous, The Colbert Report has completely disappeared from my schedules. So I re-added it then looked at everything and found it also blank. So then I started poking around the mysql databases. In the "record" database, the title, subtitle, description are blank. Let's see if this works... Code: | 284 | 3 | 1042 | 10:00:00 | 2006-12-11 | 10:30:00 | 2006-12-11 | | | | 0 | Default | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 6 | 15 | | | | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 10:00:00 | 733021 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | Default | 0 | 0000-00-00 00:00:00 | 0000-00-00 00:00:00 | 0000-00-00 00:00:00 |
It shows channel 42 (Comedy Central), 10:00-10:30am Dec 11. That's right. Then there are several blank fields where the title, subtitle, description, and category should be. The rest of the fields seem ok. I had a handful of these blank entries, so I trimmed them out of the database. Then I re-added a couple items again, a single recording and this repeating one. Again, it's blank on those fields. I just set up a recording for this hour. The mythbackend.log doesn't show any mention of even trying to record it. All tuners are not recording. It doesn't even try. Anyone have any clues as to what may be going on? |

Is your guide data ok? Zap2It flip-flopped back to the old-style listing, and unless you delete and re-add your lineup, you won't be getting any data. And tomorrow was the day for me, when I reached the end of the data. |

I have all the guide data for the the next two weeks. I ran mythfilldatabase, and there are no apparent errors. The newly added recordings are able to find the next showing's date/time, just not enough I guess to do the recording. All of my previously-scheduled programs are still recording just fine. It is just the new ones I try to add that are lost. |

This is a known bug with MythWeb. Check MythTV.org for an update that corrects it (second section down in the news) |

Hmm, it sounds like it, but the recording_schedules.php included in the 0.20 deb packages already has those fixes, and more (wrapping severing lines around there in _or()). It is version 11177, and the patch is only 11150. Mythweb is so much easier, I use it for most of my scheduling and program guide stuff. I just added the show from Myth's own program guide, and it added the schedule correctly. |

I noticed the same problem, tried to follow along with the patch instructions at mythtv.org, but can't find the mythplugins-0.20 directory in order to copy the patch there. Can someone tell me where I need to copy the diff file to? Thanks, Kamy |

I downloaded the MythPlugins .20a file, extracted it and just copied (recursively) the mythweb directories contents to /var/www/mythweb and it worked fine for me. It is not uncommon to rollback the problem file to fix a problem quickly. |
