Post subject: | Knoppmyth and MythMusic truncates music_album to 30 chars |
Hi, I have come across a interesting problem, when "Scan for new Music" on MythTV all album_name data in the music_album table is truncated to 30 chars even though the field is set to varchar(255). I have subsequently installed a clean install of KnoppMyth (R5D1) reimported my music, but the same happens. I then installed FC6 and used atrpms to install MythTv0.20a, imported my music and all data was fine, no truncation took place. I currently run KnoppMyth R5D1, but with the update to mythtv0.20a as per the cessman article in this forum. If you would like me to do any debugging, I would be happy to, just let me know what and where ![]() Regards b4b |

Not a solution, sorry, but I had seen this in R5A22 (not sure which Myth version that would have been), hunted around and found the ID3 v1 specs only allow for 30 characters maximum for any of the fields (http://www.id3.org/id3v1.html). So I simply removed the ID3 tags and the 30 character limitation disappeared. ID3v2 doesn't have this limitation... |

Maybe thats the answer. I might be grasping at straws here, but maybe there is a setting somewhere where you can set which version of ID3v1 tags to scan and knopmyth defaults to ID3v1, but if you do a install from source it defaults to ID3v2? B4b |
