I orginally posted this in the installation forum but thought I probably should move it here...didn't want to put it in the wrong place....

I knew I should have written this down  , but I am trying to remember where the initial installations scripts reside that were executed after the initial install and reboot, the ones that said you can always re-run them by ....
I also want to recreate my database, been playing and want to start fresh, what is the easiest way to accomplish? Thanks.

Most (if not all) of the scripts you are looking for are found in /usr/local/bin.

So which script do I run to re-create the database and contents, I know how to delete the database, but would like to re-run the database creation script to re-create.

I don't know the answer to that, other than to say reinstall Knoppmyth. However, looking at create-knoppmyth-sql.sh you may get an idea of what would be involved.

Well kind of, I ended up just deleting all of my recordings, I think I'm back to square 1. I had deleted some recordings manually from the directory so the backend kept complaing. I was just wanting to drop myth converg and re-create from the beginning but wasn't sure which scripts that were run in the beginning. To complicate matters more, my database is on a remote machine, well you get the picture. Well I'm closer than I've been to before...I've had more issues than you could believe but then I wasn't trying to do a straight forward install, vmware etc...well once I get everything working I'll try to post whats working and what I had to do to get there, maybe someone can benefit from my travels...

Did you make a backup first? Since that would contain a full DB dump you can always use it to roll back to a known state and take another run at whatever DB munging you're trying to do...

Then simple restart fluxbox.

instead of asking where the script was for database setup, you should have ask "I deleted some of my recordings from directory instead of through the frontend, what do I do now to fix it."

If you had ask that question, you would had quick answer and an easy fix -- instead you have gone the long way around the barn and mucked things up for yourself... no biggie, it is a good way to learn how things work.

btw -- all you would have had to do is create empty files in the directory with same names as the ones you deleted and then deleted them through the frontend and all would have been good.

No big deal, I'm just new to knopmyth, I'm actually familiar with linux and myth to some extent just new to knopp and debian. I was just wanting to find out more information on the startup scripts that are run after the initial configuration so I could look at them and see what exactly was being run and executed. I like to know how things work (network engineer by trade), that way when I muck things up, I know how to correct them.....
