Hello:

Knoppmyth has been running well, but there is one small problem:

When there is a power outage, or when I shut down the computer, I get snow on the TV when I turn the knoppmyth box back on.

To correct this problem I need to do the following:

1) start up myth-setup
2) remove /etc/irblaster/channel_change.sh
3) restart mythtv and Tune to Channel 3
4) shut down mythtv and start myth-setup
5) add the channel change script again
6) start mythtv ---> working again.

is there anything that I can do to ensure that the tuner stays on channel 3 even after a power outage/reboot?

I'm using an IR blaster with a DCT2524 and Hauppauge 150.

Thank you so much.

Sincerely,

yong_sa

there are command line tools to adjust the tuner. ivtvctl, ivtv-tune, ptune.pl.

you may one of these already. they all take device and freq as input and change channel. Play with command line and get a working command then add to /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh

the parameter is the frequency, not the channel. So for me, in the US with NTCS cable, the freq is 61250

Do you have a pretune channel set in mythtv-setup? It's the field before you set the tuning script under Input Connections.

Someone else ended up adding an invocation of ivtv-tune at the end of /etc/init.d/set_ivtv_params for this not too long ago. Searching for the highlighted bits should turn up the details.

Thank you so much!

I added the following line to the end of /etc/init.d/set_ivtv_params

/usr/local/bin/ivtv-tune --channel=3

Now the TV will work whenever my toddler presses the power button! Thank you so much!
