Weird problem with the new R5E50. I can watch TV and even transition live TV to recordings (by hitting R), but the recordings fail if set to record in advance through the listings and live TV that I transition to recordings don't appear as if they're recording. For example, in the information center, the tuner is shown as not recording and in the Watch Recordings, where the usual recording program is show in pink, it is grey like a previously recorded program but when opened, shows that it is gaining time. Hope this makes sense

I can assure you that the issue is not with R5E50 itself. Sounds like you have a hosed database or your FE/BE is misconfigured.

Try a clean R5E50 autoinstall on a separate hard drive (remove your working drive first). All you need is 10 gig drive to start with, that should atleast let you know whats up.

I forgot to post a reply to my own message after I fixed it. Apparently the card settings were just messed up in the DB so I went into mythtv-setup, delete the capture cards, all the channels, and setup up everything again. It works fine now. Thanks though for the idea

If you were upgrading from a version older than R5D1 this is called out in the upgrade hints posting here http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13108 where it's the first thing under "Phase 3 - post-install setup".
