I upgraded the system and it worked much better than last relase, but I got the same problems as I have had on all the releases, so I thought I should post it here so it maybe could be fixed later. All hardware was detected and didn't hang as it did in R5D1. I really think this is the best release so far. Two Problems that I have had on all the releases I have used: 1. My packard bell remote will not be installed by choosing it in the menu for lirc install. This has never worked for me in all the releases I have tried. I have to install this manually later. I 2. On a second disk I have a windows parttition /dev/hdc4. I think this makes an error on the lilo-configuration. I get a line 2 in lilo.conf thats start with part...... I have to delete this and rerun lilo to get my installation to boot. None of this are big problems, but if this would could be fixed for later versions it would be nice. hste |

And none of these are installation related. If you want the Packard Bell remote to work out the box, then you need to provide details. KnoppMyth is meant to be installed on a standalone system. No effort will be made to ensure dual booting. |
