Help!

I got a new 120GB dirve for Christmas and tried LVMing it into my existing 120GB drive today. The script returned an error so I tried followiong the manual instructions from the WIKI. Everything seemed to go ok and I now have a /myth directory that shows 220GB total on a DF command. The problem is that when GDM tries to start it says that it can not access or write an authorization file becuse the directory is full.

A "df" command produces the following:
File System 1K Blks Used Avail Use% Mount
/dev/hda1 3.3G 3.3G 0G 0% /
/dev/vg1/myth 212G 65G 148G 31% /myth

Is there a way to see what is filling up the / directory? Or is that even the problem? Any suggestions on where to look would be very appreciated.[/code]

Run this command:
Code:
cd / ; du -k | sort -n

The directories with the most stuff will end up at the end. I'm guessing /var/log is your problem.

I would also look in /home/mythtv and see if there are any files that have been downloaded there. Also check /home/your-user-name for the same stuff.

If you have downloaded stuff to the home folder, and done extracting and installs, but not deleted these files after, then they are taking up valuable space as well.

On a side note, I've always felt that <4GB for a root partition for KnoppMyth was kind of small, so when I do a manual install I will generally bump it up to 6GB for the root partition.
