I installed R5A16 recently and was digging around in /etc/passwd and I noticed something I never have seen before. A password hash in /etc/passwd. New users I have created use shadowing, but root, mythtv, and the inital account I created in install have hashes in /etc/passwd.

1) Is there some problem? Will knoppmyth break if I convert these account to shadowing.
2) Come on I know this isn't exactly a security distro, but this is almost too much. I've never seen hashes stored in /etc/passwd and I've been into linux for over 7 years.

Probably just an oops.

Code:
# /usr/sbin/pwconv

is already on the system, so it is easy enough to convert the /etc/passwd hashes to /etc/shadow hashes at any time.
