For various issues wiht my eisting nvidia installation I would like to try nvidia new drivers, but not sure what the exact steps are. I have read this - http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page ... diaDrivers and it looks stright forward, what I am wondering is do I have to uninstall the old drivers? The other question I would have is if I want to go back to the orginial drivers what needs to be done to accomplish that. Thanks in advance.

I haven't been using an nVidia-based card for too long, but in R5D1 all I have ever used to install nVidia drivers was
where 1.0-9629 is the version I wanted to install. No uninstalling previous drivers, no stopping/restarting gdm, etc.
