Post subject:  Upgrade history: so far so good

Old setup:
- Knoppmyth R5A16
- Master backend: Sempron 2000, 512Mb Ram, IDE 200Gb, 1 PVR150, 1 PRV500
- Slave Backend/Frontend: Sempron 1800, 256Mb, IDE 160Gb, PVR350 (with tv out)

What changed:
- Knoppmyth R5E50
- Added gigabit network cards to master and slave
- In master, replaced main HD with a 20G one, added IDE raid card (sil based fakeraid) and 2 IDE 250 in RAID 0
- Replaced video card in frontend with an FX5200
- Added DVD Burners to both master and slave

Install was a breeze. After master was running I backed it up, replaced mythconverg.sql.gz with backup from old master and rerun setup from cd in autoupgrade mode. Then I apt-get install dmraid and my 500Gb array was up and running. Formated as XFS and moved /myth to it (I have 20G HD for root)

For Slave backend had to replace xorg.conf with nvidia one. Had some trouble getting live tv to work. Was setup of ip addresses (change 127.0.0.1 with actual ip in both master and slave). Also had to create a /etc/irblaster/channel_change.sh file for my irblaster and set it up to handle my dish box.

Conclusion: Took me a whole afternoon but I had lots of hardware changes included. Lost lots of time troubleshooting backend crash but was because of wrong IP addresses. I'm impressed on how fast tvout from FX5200 is, although image quality is not as good as PVR350's

Great job to all developers. Many thanks, as Borat would say: "Great Success" :D
