Hi,

I have tried to search info on this topic unsuccessfully. I see in posts where people have talked about how much the cpu is being used in %.

Is there a button to push to see the load on the cpu while using mythtv, similar to the F7 key to monitor signal strength.?

Also while I have everyones attention. I have the opportunity to upgrade to a p4 2.66ghz computer with 512meg ram, from my old P3 1gig using fx5200 graphic with a dvico plus tv card.

Has anyone used this with mythtv2.0 or R5E50 and seen if it will be fast enough to elimnate the stutter with osd. My wife will be greatly pissed at me if it doesnt as I have convinced her the upgrade will eliminate the current stutter.

Thanks.

SSH into the machine, then run the command top.
top will show you the cpu usage.
Are you speaking of HD playback? If so it will be close, if the proc has hyperthreading you might be able to pull it off, without hyperthreading I don't think it will make it. The stuttering with the OSD is usually a symptom of using XvMC, so you would need to switch to software decoding to get rid of it.

Ill try tonight with the top command.

I bit the bullet and bought the computer and it just does hd while the OSD isnt on. SD has no worries at all.
