In R5E50, can we now use the Mythtv graphic user interface screens to setup transcoding from mpeg2 to h.264?

I looked at the Transcoders section of the Mythtv setup screens and the only 2 choices for Transcoders are RTJpeg and MPEG4 - no h.264 or any other codecs. :(

I looked in Utilities/Setup, Setup, TV Settings, Recording Profiles, Transcoders, Meduim Quality.
My goal is to set the Meduim Quality transcoder to convert to h.264.

Hopeful...
Eric

You simply need to add a user job.

Well, that is a partial answer...but, like on tests, partial answers don't count. :)

Is there a guide somewhere that tells how to set up a user job? I searched the forum and knoppmyth wiki and did not find any articles on how-to setup user jobs.

Is is a matter of putting a command line call to a script into one of those solts in the Mythtv graphic interface? (user job#1, user job#2, etc.)

Yes. It'll be just like the Myth2Ipod job. See the writeup on that. If you know what command you'd run to transcode to h.264, then you can use the Myth2Ipod writeup as a guide.
