Post subject:  Nvidia Drivers

I am interested in getting the latest NVIDIA driver for my setup. I have been constantly struggeling with HDTV. Its ALWAYS choppy for live HDTV, and sometimes choppy for recorded TV. I also experience ‘combing’ during fast motion pans(It almost looks like it is not de-interlaced). I have tried just about everything including XvMc with no luck. I am currently running the NVIDIA 8762 drivers, and am wondering If switching to the new 9746 drivers would help anything? Any other suggestions?

I find that I get the combing/tearing unless I use Deint. I use OneField with Libmpeg2. I'm on the new nVidia drivers.
With the "stock" drivers in R5E50, I had choppy HD playback. But with the new drivers, and the fix by mrfarenheit, playback is smooth, and I have 25% CPU to spare (idle) when watching HDTV on my "near dragon 1.1" system.
The tweak is here:

Thanks thornsoft, I forgot to specify that I am using R5C7. I dont know if that makes a difference. Do you think this tweak could help in R5C7?

No, the tweak is not applicable. It's for xorg.conf, which isn't used until R5E50.
Look for posts by marc.aronson, who has done lots of work with nVidia drivers under R5D?. You may be out on a limb with R5C series though.
