Post subject: | BT878 audio |
I know there's lots of information on this problem because I've been through a ton of it already with no luck. The problem I'm having is that my WinTV card doesn't get sound, or when it does, it's very distorted sound. I had it working perfectly, but a blown breaker forced me to reboot, which broke the sound and I've not been able to get it working again. There is no sound coming out of the line out on my capture card, so I'm thinking it's a driver issue. I tried swtiching over to btaudio, but I've not been able to keep bt878 from loading. The only instructions I've found for doing so are terribly out of date (pre-udev). I'm at my wits end and damn close to just investing in a non-bt878 based capture card. On occasion, when I reboot, I can get sound again (note: not an acceptable solution, as it requires several dozen reboots), but always with some distortion (either very tinny or with a strange ufo-ish sound) in MythTV. When I unmute the line in through alsamixer, the sound is crystal clear. I've tried all the sound settings I could find but none of them seem to have any effect. Can anyone help? Try running this from the command line and in alsamixer mute the capture. If that works then insert it in .fluxbox/apps (probably not the best place but it works v4l2-ctl -c mute=0 Craig |

It worked! Thank you so very much. I've been fighting this thing for weeks. Thank you again. |
