Post subject: | Wintv BT878 No Audio |
Hi I currently have video capture working with the BT878 but absolutely no audio. I'm using Intel AC 97 onboard audio but even if I plug speakers directly into the Wintv line out, I still don't hear sound. So I think it's an issue with the Wintv card. When trying to run alsaconf, amixer returns mixer attach default error: no such device Any ideas? Driver issue? I'm new to mythtv and not very linux savvy to begin with so thanks for the help. |

Don't have time to look it up now but search for a recent post by me and you will find a command to try. It may or may not help. Craig |

Craig Thanks Craig. I ran v4l2-ctl -c mute=0 from the shell. After doing so, I was able to get sound directly from the Wintv output. Now that this is working, should I be hooking the line out from the Wintv to the line-in on the onboard AC 97? Then I would be hooking my speakers to the AC 97 output? Right now, if I connect the Wintv to the AC 97, and then speakers to the AC 97 output, I cannot hear anything. Also I noticed that listening to sound directly out of the Wintv was not in synch with the video so I'm assuming that this is because of the fact that I'm not using the AC 07 output? Thanks |

once you hook it up to the sound card you then need to open alasmixer and turn up the capture volume and then mute the capture (I know it seems counterintuitive to mute what you want to hear) I can never remember the command to save the settings but a quick search of the forum will find it for you. If you are still having audio sync issues you will have to do a search I have not had that issue. Craig |
