I suggest you go to a terminal prompt and run alsamixer as super user. It somes up showing your output configuration. Tab once and you get inputs. Tab again and you get combined ... Left arrow, right arrow, space to turn things on and off, up arrow down arrow to adjust the vertical sliders, M to mute and unmute things. Start by writing down what you have so you can et back to it. Play around with it till it works. You might turn everything reasonable up to about 70% and see if it works. Turn things off one at a time to find out what works. Realize that what you want is for the input to come from line in, get converted to PCM, get stored on disk, and a few seconds later come off the disk into the output PCM and finally come out thru the master volume. You generally do not want your output to come from line in. You generally want it to come from PCM. If you hear things twice a few seconds apart while you are watching live tv then you have line in turned on in your output settings. Turn it off. Your input needs to come from line in, not mic. When you get it working, run this as super user alsactl store |
