Out of the blue today my mythbox would bot boot up. I get the message:
/etc/init: out of file descriptors
Kernal panic - not syncing : Attempting to kill init!

I found a few posts on possible fixes for sata drives with kernal panics but I want to take the safest most simple route and backup the videos folder to my xp machine and then do a fresh install.

Getting it working would be better but accessing the videos folder would be nice too.

I pulled the drive out and attached it to my xp machine but it doesn't see it.

Does anyone have a fix or way to get my xp machine to see it?
