I'm trying to install R5E50. I have an Asus K8S-MX with a 3000+ Sempron 64. I have a PVR-150 and a hd5500 for tuners. I'm using four SATA drives, two on a PCIe SATA card.

This works fine using the onboard SiS video, but HDTV recordings don't play well. I got a FX5200, but whenever X starts with this card in, my computer hangs. Keyboard lights can't be toggled, and SysRq magic doesn't do anything.

How can I get this working?

-------------------------------

I needed to upgrade to nvidia driver 9746 and remove install-nvidia-debian, nvidia-glx, and nvidia-kernel from starting at boot.

I upgraded to Nvidia drivers 9746, and I don't get hangs now. I got X to start cleanly once, but ever since then I get a corrupted display with yellow bars all over or "INIT: Id "c7" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes".
