Did you ever resolve this? I'm considering a jump to 0.10.x (once i gather a little more info).

If there is "assorted badness" associated I may hold back though.

No rando
I went back to ivtv-0.8.2 for now. Until I get more time to play around with it, or someone else has the same problem and there is a fix.
If I do resolve this I will post my fix.

Thanks for the reply, turns out that moving up to 0.10.x wouldn't even resolve what i'm looking to resolve.... so I'll be staying put at 0.8.2 as well.

FWIW - The README file (for 0.10.1 at least) contains some interesting notes about special module options when using the ivtv-fb output with PVR-350 cards. They repeat essentially the note about 3 times/ways so they must really mean it. ;-)
Quote:
NOTE: ivtv-fb (PVR350 specific) now requires that you enable the following kernel
config options: Go to 'Device drivers -> Graphics support'. Enable 'Support for frame
buffer devices'. Enable 'Trident support' (the Trident module itself is not required).

To get working console output, keep going to 'Console display driver support',
and enable 'Framebuffer Console support'. Enable 'Select compiled-in fonts' &
once that's done, you should have a list of fonts. Choose one. With the
default OSD size, 'VGA 8x16' gives 80x30(PAL) 80x25(NTSC).

NOTE: users of MythTV who use the PVR350 for mpeg decoding need to specify
the option osd_compat=1 when loading the ivtv-fb module. This is not required
when using the default Xv output.

NOTE: users of ivtv X driver may need to specify the option
osd_compat=1 when loading the ivtv-fb module. You will only need it if the
display becomes scrambled in X.
