I've searched around the forum for everything I can think of and I still can't find what I'm looking for. I'm trying to hook my xbox up to my mythtv box (PVR 500). Where in the heck do I tell myth that there is something hooked up on the composite input???

go into myth-setup and add a new channel listing and then assign it to your composite input.

After you have done this you will be able to switch to that tunner with the y key when watching tv.

You will also need to connect a sound cable for audio.

There will be lag so you will not be able to play a game but, would work fine for recording/watching dvds ect....

Be careful when adding sources for non-television inputs. MythTV will use all sources for scheduling recordings, and if you are not careful, it will try to record shows off of your XBox. :-)

I created a channel listing through my data provider (Zap2It in North America) with exactly one channel that I know I never will record, and I use that source for those inputs that I do not want to schedule.

Well cabbage. I didn't really think about the delay. I guess that IS going to cause a little bit of a problem. Alright, I'll just stick with swapping the cables on the TV when I want to play. Thanks!

Why not run xawtv when you want to use the composite input? Sure, it's a bit crap to look at but it doesn't suffer from buffering lag like myth does.
