The devil is in te detail that its trying to resolve he address of gbpvr to 1.0.0.0 on port 80.

Has anyone else sen this, if so what was your fix? this and wqet are both malfunctioning.
The nic is definitely working as i'm using it on the network to copy stuff from my desktop, its just not letting the wget function work.

HELP!!! Any ideas?

It looks like your DNS is not set up correctly, are you able to ping internet addresses like www.google.com?
Using /sbin/route and cat /etc/resolv.conf will show you current route and nameserver.

Hi Bruce,

I can connect to the internet with the rest of the applications, its seems to be something specific to the wget functions. Do you know if a path field is held in MySql somewhere? This is turning out to be a real head scratcher.

Below is the result of the queries. I notice no gateway address, is this significant?

root@mythtv:~# /sbin/route
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
192.168.1.0 * 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth0

root@mythtv:~# cat /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 192.168.1.1
root@mythtv:~#

I would suggest running netcardconfig, since you have no default gateway or name servers defined for this system (or are you really using 192.168.1.1 as your nameserver?)
